Computational Earth System Scientist

Hyun (or Hyun-Gyu) Kang is a computational Earth system scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory whose work is focused on developing, implementing, and optimizing scalable numerical algorithms to improve the efficiency and accuracy of Earth system models. Hyun is also interested in the high performance and heterogeneous computing to accelerate the models. Hyun received his Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences from Pukyong National University in 2017 and was awarded the outstanding thesis award by Korean Meteorological Society.
